Disappointing WWE update on Omos amid 264-day absence - Reports

Some superstars benefit from a change in regime and others don't, with Omos being one of them after going MIA this year. There is a disappointing update on the plans for him.

On a Fightful Q&A, Sean Ross Sapp was asked about the status of the popular Omos, who hasn't wrestled a match since April 5 this year, 264 days ago. Many consider him a highly underutilized star, as he has shown glimpses of his personality outside of WWE, proving that he can be more than just a conventional giant for the promotion to push.

The RAW superstar is still on the sidelines with a WWE contract and no injuries. Sean Ross Sapp stated that he has no idea why he hasn't been utilized on television and isn't aware of any plans to bring him back:

"No news on him. He is still under WWE contract. I don't know why he's not on TV. He hasn't been used since around Mania, and had appeared in battle royales and Rumbles, and some live events. He occasionally does media."

It's a shame he is in creative limbo with no concrete plans. One can only hope that RAW on Netflix debut will give him a bigger spotlight after the WrestleMania season ends.

Triple H had another goal for Omos, according to MVP.

What exactly could be the reason why WWE isn't utilizing the Nigerian star as it should?

On K & S WrestleFest's virtual signing, the former United States Champion said Triple H was determined not to make Omos another Big Show and wanted to turn him into a special attraction:

"Triple H was adamant that he didn’t want him to be another Big Show. He didn’t want him on TV every week. He wanted him to be an attraction. He just wanted to break him out periodically to be an attraction."

It's a good idea on paper, but not using Omos is counterproductive. MVP's comments about labeling anyone who can't use the Nigerian Giant are hard to disagree with.

He doesn't need to be the Big Show—he simply needs to be Omos. If fans were aware of the trials and tribulations he faced to make it to the big time, they would be more likely to support him.
