Former WWE Superstar Matt Riddle had an exceptional start to 2025 by winning the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. The Original Bro has reportedly also signed an exclusive deal with the wrestling promotion.

The 38-year-old was released from the Stamford-based company in September 2023. After parting ways with WWE, Riddle went back to the independent scene and wrestled for various promotions, including TNA Wrestling, NJPW, Lucha Libre AAA, and more. The former UFC Star recently made headlines when he defeated Satoshi Kojima to win the MLW World Heavyweight Title at MLW Kings Of Colosseum 2025.

The championship win makes complete sense in the wake of a recent report from Lucha Libre Online's Michael Morales Torres. The report claims that The King of Bros had already signed an exclusive deal with Major League Wrestling at the end of 2024. The exclusive deal with the wrestling promotions means that Matt Riddle would no longer compete in AAA.

Matt Riddle was the AAA Cruiserweight Champion till December 2024. He lost the title to Lerado Kid at AAA Cierre De La Gira Origenes. With Riddle becoming an exclusive star for Major League Wrestling, it will be interesting to see what lies ahead for the former WWE Superstar.
