Kofi Kingston breaks character to send heartfelt message to AEW star ahead of WWE RAW

Kofi Kingston broke character ahead of this week's edition of WWE RAW to send a heartfelt message to an AEW star. Kingston is a part of The New Day on the red brand, and the duo turned heel last month.

The veteran recently appeared on In The Kliq and discussed AEW star Bryan Danielson, formerly known in WWE as Daniel Bryan. The American Dragon has not competed in a match since losing the AEW World Championship to Jon Moxley at WrestleDream 2024.

During the interview, Kingston claimed that Danielson was a top-five wrestler of all time and praised him for returning from a broken neck.

"Daniel Bryan, I think, is one of the greatest, he's got to be like a top five of all time for a lot of different reasons. I mean, just his resiliency. He's a guy who broke his neck, and when people said that he wasn't going to be able to do it. You have to admire someone that can do that. On top of that too, he is somebody who doesn't really seek any credit," he said. [From 00:04 to 00:26]

Kingston then broke character on social media and gave a shout-out to Bryan Danielson, as seen in his post below.

The New Day betrayed Big E on the December 2, 2024, episode of WWE RAW and scolded him for not being there for them while recovering from a broken neck. The former WWE Champion suffered a broken neck in March 2022 and still has not returned to action since.

WWE legend reacts to Kofi Kingston's mother's appearance on RAW

Wrestling veteran Teddy Long recently commented on Kofi Kingston's mother showing up on RAW last month.

Kofi's mother appeared on the December 2, 2024, edition of the red brand and refused to hug her son following his heel turn. Speaking on Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine show, Long stated that he would have had Kingston's mother flip out on her son during the segment.

"I think they missed it. The only thing I would have done that they didn't do is the mother. Now when the mother comes out the mother is just strict as a ball. She don't wanna hear no man... So just as soon as Kofi got over there right to her trying to explain to her what this all about, she should have got right up right there and just can him. You were never raised like this!"
