Welcome to another edition of WWE News Roundup, in which we discuss all the major developments in the world of the Sports Entertainment juggernaut in the last 24 hours. In today's piece, we will look at stories about Roman Reigns and Becky Lynch, among others.
Also, a prominent superstar has teased a change in character amid a lengthy absence from TV programming. So without any further delay, let's begin:
WWE embarked on a new era last night, as the company's flagship program, Monday Night RAW, premiered on Netflix. The show was filled with enthralling matches and segments, with multiple legends making their return.
Roman Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa in a Tribal Combat Match to reclaim the Ula Fala. Meanwhile, Rhea Ripley also won back the Women's World Championship after getting a win over Liv Morgan. We also saw Drew McIntyre lose to Jey Uso, while CM Punk got the better of Seth Rollins in the main event.
Aside from all the matches, we saw the return of John Cena and The Rock. Nikki Bella, Hulk Hogan, Jimmy Hart, and The Undertaker also made an appearance.
Here are the complete results from the show:
Giovanni Vinci has not been featured on WWE programming in the last several months. He was last seen on television on the September 20, 2024, edition of SmackDown. Amid his hiatus, the former Imperium star teased undergoing a character change.
"Reset. Rewrite. Regain!" he wrote on X.
Vinci has mostly competed in Dark matches in the last few months.
Rhea Ripley's feud with Liv Morgan seemingly came to an end on RAW last night, as Mami won back the WWE Women's World Championship. With WrestleMania season almost upon us, fans have started to speculate on The Eradicator's potential opponent at The Showcase of The Immortals in Las Vegas.
Vince Russo also joined in the discussion, noting that either Charlotte Flair or Becky Lynch could return to feud with the newly crowned champion on the Road to WrestleMania 41. While The Queen has been absent since December 2023, The Man's contract expired in June last year.
"I would have to think it’s gotta be Charlotte or Becky because those are the only two that are gonna mean anything. Bianca Belair, maybe? But she’s doing the thing with Naomi now. I would think that Charlotte and Becky are the only two that make sense," he said on Sportskeeda's Legion of RAW. [From 26:09 onwards]
Roman Reigns emerged victorious in the Tribal Combat Match on WWE RAW's Netflix premiere, following which he was given a new nickname by ring announcer Alicia Taylor. The 39-year-old was announced as the Only Tribal Chief after his big win.
The Head of The Table was also confronted by The Rock after the match. The Brahma Bull presented the Ula Fala to his cousin.
