"Became 1 big rondo on the pitch" - Liverpool star Ryan Gravenberch says Reds 'dominated' Real Madrid in 2-0 win

Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has spoken highly about his team's performance in their 2-0 win over Real Madrid in Gameweek 5 of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, November 27. The Reds were comprehensive throughout the game at Anfield and showed why they are among the best in the business.

The Reds went top of the UCL rankings after this win with 15 points to their name. Arne Slot's men have been in brilliant form in the continental tournament this season, winning all five matches they have played so far. What's more, the Merseysiders have conceded just one goal in their UCL campaign.

Speaking to Ziggo Sport after the game, Gravenberch mentioned that his team dominated Real Madrid in the second half. The Dutchman, who played a decisive role in midfield alongside goalscorer Alexis Mac Allister, said that his team benefitted from a penalty save by goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

“We dominated Real Madrid, especially in the second half. We barely gave any chances away. Kelleher saved the penalty and after that, it became 1 big rondo on the pitch, if I can say that,” said Gravenberch.

Liverpool currently sit atop the Premier League table

The Reds are also on top of the English Premier League table with 31 points in their kitty. New manager Slot has had a fantastic start to life in England, winning ten out of the twelve matches Liverpool have played in the league. They have conceded just eight goals so far.

Liverpool next take on Manchester City at home in a scintillating clash in the EPL on Sunday, December 1. The latter are not in the best of form at the moment, having lost four out of the last five matches they have played. The Reds will be keen on picking up all three points to extend the eight-point lead they currently have over the Cityzens.
