Ipswich Town fan and famous singer, Ed Sheeran has apologized to Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim for interrupting his post-match interview on Sky Sports. Sheeran was in attendance as Ipswich held United to a 1-1 draw at the Portman Road Stadium on Sunday, November 24.

Sheeran was called out by a section of Manchester United fans for the same. He has now taken to Instagram to issue an apology to Amorim. He wrote (via Mirror):

"Apologies if I offended Amorim yesterday, didn't realise he was actually being interviewed at the time, was popping to say hi and bye to Jamie. Obvz feel a bit of a b*****d but life goes on. Great game though, congrats to all involved x."

During the same interview, Amorim complained about his media duties in the build-up to his first match in charge of the Red Devils. He said after the draw at Ipswich Town (via Mirror):

"This week I spoke more to the media than I did in four years at Sporting. I just want to work with my players. Nothing more."

Marcus Rashford scored the opening goal of the match before Omari Hutchinson scored a stunning goal to equalize. The match ended 1-1, leaving Ipswich Town in the relegation zone and Manchester United in 12th position in the league table.

Ruben Amorim reflects on Manchester United's draw with Ipswich Town

Ruben Amorim pointed out that his players were thinking too much and lost the ball easily on some occasions. Reflecting on his side's performance in the game, he said:

"I think my players were thinking too much. We lost some balls without pressure. But they really, really tried and they want this. It's a tough league. You learn that in the first moment. My players were thinking too much in the game. You can feel it. Not just on the ball but where they are supposed to be. And that is hard. It's just two days with the team, so it's really hard. I think we needed more physicality in the first half.
"It's a tough match, we lost some balls without pressure. You have to control the ball and the tempo of the game. They didn't do it but they really tried. They are really trying and they want this. We have to try to from the first moment, we have to address the new idea and try to be better next year at the same stage."

Manchester United will next face Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday, November 28, before hosting Everton at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday, December 1. Following that, they will visit Arsenal in the league before taking on Nottingham Forest at home.
