Tranmere Rovers have given a hilarious response to Roy Keane's Trent Alexander-Arnold comments. The English right-back's contract with Liverpool expires at the end of this season and he hasn't signed a new deal yet.

The Reds remain locked in talks to tie him down to a new deal but are yet to taste success in their endeavor. Recent reports have suggested that Real Madrid are planning a Bosman move for the 26-year-old this summer.

Meanwhile, Trent Alexander-Arnold had a disappointing outing in the 2-2 draw against Manchester United on Sunday, January 5, at Anfield. The Englishman failed to influence the game and the Red Devils found great joy going forward on his side of the pitch.

Speaking after the game, Keane suggested that Alexander-Arnold could end up at Liverpool's Merseyside neighbors Tranmere Rovers instead of Real Madrid.

“We talk about how brilliant Trent is going forward but Trent’s defending today, my goodness. It’s like schoolboy stuff. There’s talk about him going to Real Madrid, but the way he’s defending he’ll be going to Tranmere Rovers after this. Got to do better,” said Keane.

The legendary midfielder's comments soon caught fire and grabbed the attention of Tranmere Rovers. The EFL League Two side gave a cheeky response on social media, sharing a picture of wingback Cameron Norman, who had scored in the 1-0 win over Carlisle on Saturday.

“Trent to Tranmere, Roy? Nah, we're alright thanks,” wrote Tranmere.

Liverpool remain at the top of the Premier League after 19 games, with a comfortable six-point lead over second-placed Arsenal, who have played a game more.

Trent Alexander-Arnold rose through the ranks at Liverpool before breaking into the first team in the 2016/17 campaign. The Englishman has since become an integral part of the Reds' setup and was key to their success under Jurgen Klopp.

Alexander-Arnold has been equally important to Arne Slot's setup, registering one goal and five assists from 24 games this season. The Englishman has appeared 334 times for the Merseyside club in his career, registering 20 goals and 85 assists.

His efforts have earned him admirers at the Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid are looking for a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal and have identified Trent Alexander-Arnold as the ideal candidate for the job. The Spaniard will turn 33 this week and is currently out for the season with an ACL injury.
