Liverpool fans reacted on social media to the club's starting lineup ahead of their clash with Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday, November 27. The European giants, who have 21 UCL trophies between them, are set to clash in the competition's group stage at Anfield.

New Reds boss Arne Slot will head into the game confident of his side's abilities after a fine run of form that has seen them win their last five matches. However, the fans have mixed reactions to the starting XI.

Following the announcement of the lineup, fans took to X to post their opinions on the selection, with one post reading:

"Robertson and Bradley as fullbacks is just a recipe for disaster. Both road runners, ball chasers, 0 IQ, not technically gifted, keep giving the ball away, never track runners, always go for the ball irrespective of situation etc. I can go on and on. Hate such type of players."

Another fan post lamented the selection at fullback as well, saying:

"Bradley and Robertson obviously massive concerns, other than that good team."

Another fan posted:

"Alexis MacAllister on a UCL night vs Real Madrid. He is who I have the highest expectations from in this game. Bradley and Robertson make the wide areas a massive liability. Robbo needs to defend the inside better and Bradley needs to be focused.WE MOVE."

Another fan posted:

"Good lineup but Robertson and Bradley will make it hard for us"

One Liverpool fan urged the defenders to do him proud in their post:

"Robertson and Bradley please don't let me down"

Another post read:

"By all means, i repeat, by all means, we have to win tonight.. that 4 years of L from that mid team has to stop"

Liverpool have failed to beat Real Madrid in their last eight attempts across the last 15 years. The English giants will hope they can end their poor record against the European giants on their turf tonight.

"I said many times we should take the (example) of Madrid, that they always find a way to win" - Liverpool boss wary ahead of Real Madrid clash

Liverpool manager Arne Slot is wary of his clash against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League today. The English side has been in stellar form in the competition but still faces the most successful team in its history. They have won six UCL trophies while Los Blancos have won a record 15.

The Reds have been fabulous this season in Europe, having won their four previous games in the competition, scoring 10 goals and conceding only once. However, the Dutch manager remains wary of his next opponents, saying via The Independent:

“I cannot talk for all the other teams they face but when I worked at my former club (Feyenoord) I said many times we should take the (example) of Madrid, that they always find a way to win. They can win it in different ways and that is probably one of the reasons – apart from them having so much quality – that they won this tournament a lot."

Real Madrid haven't been at their best in the Champions League this season losing two games and winning two. They sit in 21st place on the table, six points off Liverpool in third.
