Real Madrid succumbed to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool in the Champions League on Wednesday, November 27. Carlo Ancelotti's men were undone by goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo, while Kylian Mbappe missed a penalty.
Meanwhile, Los Blancos are planning to sit down with the Reds to discuss a possible move for Trent Alexander-Arnold. Elsewhere, Jude Bellingham has claimed that he wants to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu for more than a decade.
On that note, let's look at the major Real Madrid transfer stories from November 28, 2024.
According to MARCA, Real Madrid are set to hold talks with Liverpool for Trent Alexander-Arnold. The English right-back has entered the final year of his contract with the Reds and is yet to sign a new deal.
Los Blancos are keen to secure his services in 2025, as they look to bolster their right-back position. Dani Carvajal is out for the season with an ACL injury and will turn 33 in January.
Real Madrid have struggled in his absence and could also be tempted to move for Alexander-Arnold at the turn of the year. Liverpool want to sit with their LaLiga counterparts to understand their interest in the 26-year-old.
With the player stalling a new deal so far, the Merseyside giants could be open to an exit in January for the right price.
Jude Bellingham has rubbished reports linking him to Liverpool. The Englishman moved to the Santiago Bernabeu from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2023.
It was reported that the Reds also wanted him last year but lost out to Los Blancos. While Bellingham hasn't been in his element this season, his stock remains high, and the player's suitors could be monitoring his situation with interest.
Speaking to TNT Sport, however, the 21-year-old insisted he is happy with the LaLiga champions.
“I’m very happy at Madrid. I think the next 10 or 15 years will be white for me. When Real Madrid knock on the door, it shakes the whole house,” said Bellingham.
“My move to Liverpool was not as close as the media made out. I don’t want to say anything disrespectful, but when Real Madrid arrive… it’s different level,” he continued.
Jude Bellingham has registered two goals and four assists from 15 games across competitions this season.
Liverpool missed the chance to sign Rodrygo Goes for just €3m in 2017, according to Mundo Deportivo. Former Reds manager Jurgen Klopp apparently came across videos of the player online and was mighty impressed by his talent.
The German manager reportedly traveled to Brazil to meet the player and wanted him at Anfield. Rodrygo was scheduled to become one of Klopp's earliest signings, but negotiations ultimately broke down.
The report adds that the two parties couldn't agree to a transfer fee. Liverpool's offer was lower than Santos' valuation of the player and the Brazilian ended up staying at the club.
Rodrygo was outstanding for the Brazilian club that season and turned heads at the Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid arrived a year later and paid €44.3m for his services.
