Recently, interviewer Kjersti Flaa denied her involvement in Blake Lively’s smear campaign after she took to Instagram on December 22 and said in a video:
“So I have to say something because now I see that things are starting to snowball and people started thinking that I had something to do with the smear campaign against Blake Lively that was orchestrated allegedly by Justin Baldoni and his team…”
She continued:
“I see there's been so much dirty work going on behind the scenes and I just wanted to say I have nothing to do with it… I posted a video showing how Blake Lively was behaving in my interview and that's it..”
Here, she was referring to her viral 2016 interview with Lively, which was uploaded on YouTube on August 11, 2024, where the Gossip Girl actress was allegedly rude. After the 2016 interview, Flaa claimed she "wanted to quit" her job because Lively was "rude" and "insensitive" throughout the interview.
Now, once Flaa’s recent Instagram video went public, netizens took to X to react to the same. Many even criticized her for her comments against Blake. One wrote that she reportedly started the hate campaign against the actress for a short-lived fame.
“It’s sad to see women starting hate campaigns just for 5 minutes frame,” one netizen said.
Others also preached to the choir. One said that she allegedly took advantage of the hate train against Blake, while another one tagged her as misogynistic.
“I think she saw she was in the head lines and just decided to post it,” one said.
“She may not have had nothing to do with it, but she certainly took advantage of the hate train and used it to boost her own social presence.. at Blake's expense,” another one said.
“This girl is rooted in misogyny... She sure “wanted to be part of this” when the whole internet was dragging Blake Lively,” alleged another X user.
On the other hand, many users took Flaa’s side and stood by her. One said that her "honest" statement shows "professionalism," while another one said that it's good to see her “clearing up any confusion.”
“Kjersti’s response shows professionalism and honesty in addressing the situation head-on,” one netizen said.
“It’s great to see Kjersti standing firm and clearing up any confusion. Integrity matters,” wrote one.
“Kjersti Flaa’s statement shows a strong commitment to transparency and setting the record straight,” another one praised.
Kjersti Flaa is now being criticized for her recent Instagram video about Blake Lively and the alleged "hate" she has been getting from the public. During the same, Flaa further said:
“When I read the text messages that were going back and forth between Justin Baldoni's PR team, I was shocked and appalled like everyone else and I would never take part in anything like that….”
She continued:
“That's such an insult to me and I really hope that if you have time, check out my video that I've just posted on YouTube where I explain things because I don't want to be part of this…”
This clip came after Flaa posted the It Ends With Us star's interview from 2016 on her YouTube channel in August 2024. In the video, she said she had a rough start with the actress and never got back on track.
At one portion during the 2016 interview, she congratulated the reportedly expectant actress on her "little bump," but the star quickly responded by giving back the comment. Years later, during a conversation with The Mail on August 16, 2024, Flaa recalled feeling “almost paralyzed” after the actress' comment as she “could not get pregnant.”
She further told the outlet:
“To be honest, it hurts because I obviously wasn’t pregnant and I could never get pregnant.. So to me that comment was like a bullet.”
Blake Lively sued her co-star Justin Baldoni for alleged s*xual harassment. Her legal team further claimed that Baldoni allegedly launched a smear campaign to damage her reputation.
