Keith Sweat recently performed at a concert in the Netherlands, a video of which has since gone viral. In the video, posted on Instagram by @theshaderoom on December 21, the R&B singer was performing pelvic thrusts on the stage, causing the audience to laugh.

The Instagram video has received over 1.8 million views, 26K likes, and 7K comments. Many netizens reacted to the video, some calling the moves "Hennessy pumps," while others joked about taking him back to the nursing home.

Keith Sweat, who is currently 63 years old, performed live at the Rotterdam Ahoy Arena in the Netherlands on December 19. Sweat also shared the stage with Ginuwine and the all-women band, SWV, that evening.

Keith Sweat was born in Harlem, New York, on July 22, 1961, to a hairdresser mother and a father who was a factory worker. Sweat's father passed away when he was 12, after which his mother, Juanita Thompson, raised him alongside his four siblings by herself. As a youth, Sweat used to perform at the Apollo Theatre, which was close to his home.

According to Daily Midland News, before Keith Sweat started a career in music, he worked a 9-to-5 job in the New York Stock Exchange commodities market. Sweat also sang at nightclubs on the side. When he was 26, Keith released his debut studio album titled Make It Last Forever, which became a commercial and critical success, selling over 3 million copies.

Sweat's sophomore album, I'll Give My All to You, came two years later, instantly securing the sixth position on the Billboard 200 album chart. Keep it Comin'—his' third album—dropped the following year.

Keith Sweat always had a keen eye for music. In 1992, he discovered Silkan Atlanta-based R&B group—and helped them craft their first album, Lose Control, which hit number 7 on the Billboard 200 album chart. Another R&B group, Kut Klose, was discovered by the singer the following year. Their debut album, Surrender, was assisted by Sweat, producing the band's biggest hit to date—I Like.

Keith's fourth album,Get Up On It, was released in 1994, and his fifth, self-titled album, dropped two years later. Both albums made it to the top ten of the Billboard 200 chart.

In 1997, Keith discovered yet another R&B group, Ol' Skool and helped them with their self-titled debut. Sweat also featured in the group's single, Am I Dreaming. Sweat also formed the R&B group called LSG, alongside Johnny Gill and Gerald Lavert. The same year, LSG dropped their first album, Lavert.Sweat.Gill., which reached number 4 on Billboard's 200 chart, with its single, My Body, becoming a hit single.

Keith Sweat has released 13 solo studio albums and two collaborative albums throughout his career.

He has also dabbled in acting, making cameo appearances in movies like New York City (1991), Rhapsody (2000), Forbidden Fruits (2006), Pastor Brown (2009), Love Magical (2018), For The Love of Money (2021), and You're Not Alone (2023).

Keith was also part of the guest cast in TV shows like Showtime at the Apollo (1988), New York Undercover (1994), Martin (1997), and Hell's Kitchen (2017).

In 1992, Sweat got married to Lisa Wu Hartwell, who starred in The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The couple had two sons in 1995 and 1998, respectively. Wu and Sweat got divorced in 2002.


Since 2007, Keith Sweat has been the host of a nationally syndicated radio program with Premiere Networks—a position he still holds.
