Kendrick Lamar made a guest appearance on SZA's song 30 for 30 from her latest release, LANA (SOS Delux), which dropped on Friday, December 20, 2024. However, fans claim Lamar's verse is taking shots at rival Drake.

"You f*ckin' with n**gas that's thinkin' they cuter than you, oh/ Say you on your cycle, but he on his period too, oh," Lamar raps.

According to netizens, the Compton rapper is referencing someone close to SZA (real name Solána Imani Rowe) who is more feminine than the latter. They claim the person is Drake, who was once romantically involved with SZA. Moreover, 30 for 30 Freestyle is a 2015 track by Drake.

Needless to say, the comparison sparked a debate online. One X user commented:

"Can we stop making everything this man says about Drake please? These bars could mean anyone at all! It's getting boring."

Many continued to reason that the comparison was a stretch and Lamar was only speaking generally.

"Not everything Kendrick says about anyone is targeted towards Drake," one person noted.
"The reaches and stretches y’all do to connect everything to the beef are actually impressive at this point," another remarked.
"I don’t know if they was about drake or if he was speaking in general," a person reacted.

Others argued that it was definitely a diss directed at Drake, one even calling Kendrick Lamar "obsessed."

"N**ga obsessed with Drake at this point man. Can he drop ANYTHING without trying to attach himself to Drake it’s been going on since 2013 now," an X user commented.
"Drop drop drop drop gonna haunt drake till the day he die he awoke a demon lmao I haven’t seen Kendrick put this much content out in like a decade," another added.
"Kendrick is still burying that dude and his entire fanbase," one fan reacted.

SZA made a guest appearance on Kendrick Lamar's recent album, GNX

SZA dropped her second studio album, SOS, in 2022. It was met with commercial and critical success. The album debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart. It earned the singer a Grammy, BET award, and Billboard Music Award.

On Friday, Rowe dropped the deluxe edition of the project titled SOS Deluxe: Lana. It featured 15 extra songs, including a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar (30 for 30).

SZA has previously worked with Drizzy on the singles Slime You Out and Rich Baby Daddy. Both songs were commercial successes, with Slime You Out debuting at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and the latter song topping the US Rhythmic charts.

The pair briefly dated in 2009. In an October 2023 interview with People magazine, SZA explained:

"We were really young. It wasn’t hot and heavy or anything. It was like youth vibes. It was so childish."

While beefing with Kendrick Lamar earlier this year, Drake in his diss track Push Ups, rapped that, "SZA got you wiped down." However, SZA has remained loyal to her former TDE labelmate. The song 30 for 30 is the SZA and Lamar's third collaboration this year. The Kill Bill singer made a guest appearance on two tracks from Kendrick Lamar's recent album, GNX-Luther and Gloria.

Neither Drake, Kendrick Lamar, nor SZA have publicly reacted to the speculations over 30 for 30 lyrics.
