Lover recently shared with The Art Of Dialogue how he felt about Drake using Tupac's AI voice for his diss track Taylor Made Freestyle. In the YouTube video dropped on October 12, 2024, while weighing in on the topic, Lover said:

"I hated that s**t. I hated that because that man is not here to give you his permission to do s**t."

Ed Lover continued to say that, according to him, Drizzy wasn't even in Shakur's "league."

"And you're not even in that man's league. You're a great artist in your own right, but the way that man got everybody heart, you ain't got people's heart like that."

For the unversed, Drake released Taylor Made Freestyle in April 2024 while he was beefing with Kendrick Lamar. The music, however, had to be removed after a cease-and-desist was issued by Tupac's estate.

Not just Lover, but several other artists and fans had similar reactions when they heard the AI voice of Shakur in the diss track. Howard King, an attorney representing Tupac's estate, spoke about the track in April, shortly after its release. According to King, the estate was "dismayed and disappointed."

In a statement to Billboard, King mentioned:

"The Estate is deeply dismayed and disappointed by your unauthorized use of Tupac's voice and personality."

Howard King previously said that the AI vocals in the diss track by Drake violated Tupac Shakur's publicity

As mentioned, using Tupac's AI vocals in Taylor Made Freestyle didn't sit right with many, including the fans. Time then reported that, according to King, the usage was "a blatant abuse of the legacy of one of the greatest hip-hop artists of all time." He added that the estate would never approve of something like that.

Apart from Ed Lover, singer Sheryl Crow had also previously bashed Drake for the diss track. In June, she told BBC,

"You cannot bring people back from the dead and believe that they would stand for that. I'm sure Drake thought, 'Yeah, I shouldn't do it, but I'll say sorry later.' But it's already done, and people will find it even if he takes it down."

Crow further described the track as hateful in nature due to usage of the AI vocals. The AI vocals lyrics in the diss track read as:

"Kendrick, we need ya, the West Coast savior / Engraving your name in some hip-hop history / If you deal with this viciously / You seem a little nervous about all the publicity."

Taylor Made Freestyle was one of the first diss tracks that Drake released earlier this year during the much-publicized beef. The track was released after Kendrick Lamar dropped Like That with Future, where he seemingly dissed Drizzy and J. Cole.

Apart from Tupac, the track also included Snoop Dogg's AI vocals. Dogg appeared to be quite surprised when he came to know about the same. As for the recent comments made by Ed Lover, Drizzy has not responded to them as of now.
