Charlamagne Tha God recently corroborated claims from Diddy's lawyers about the rapper's former girlfriend Cassie Ventura being a consenting participant in his Freak Off videos. Commenting on the same, Charlamagne said that he "may or may not know some people" who were locked up with Diddy who have seen the tapes in question as well.
The American radio host said:
“Bunch of adults on there having consensual s*x. They told us some names on the tapes.”
Then, Charlamagne and other hosts on his radio show jokingly discussed how they had never been to a single Diddy party.
At the beginning of the clip, one of the hosts on the show said that Diddy's lawyers were hinting at how the videos that the government is trying to use against him in the criminal filing against the rapper will prove his innocence.
The recent instance is not the first time Charlamagne Tha God has commented on Diddy, his parties, or the charges against the rapper. During an episode of The Breakfast Club in September 2024, the radio host said that if Diddy was convicted on racketeering and s*x trafficking charges for freak-offs, "there will be others involved". Charlamagne said:
"...if you ever ran a train with Diddy you're probably going go jail... if you’ve ever been butt naked anywhere with Diddy and there was some women around or men around that he told you were part of the party party, you're probably going to jail..."
Additionally, Charlamagne Tha God commented on the 2016 footage of Diddy physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura after CNN released the video in May 2024.
During his appearance on The View on May 23, 2024, Charlamagne said that the "issue is domestic violence". The radio host based his perspective on the fact that men don't work on themselves especially when they're dealing with pain and unhealed trauma which results in them projecting the same onto others.
Charlamagne Tha God mentioned:
“The issue is patriarchy, right. As long as you have a system where men feel superior to women and they’re dealing with that pain and they’re dealing with that hurt, we’re going to continue to project that onto our women.”
He continued:
“But right now as I’m talking, there’s a woman out there getting beat up by a man and she’s not going to get [any] news coverage. Nobody’s going to talk about her.”
Charlamagne addressed the video of Diddy assaulting Cassie during one of the episodes of The Breakfast Club in May 2024, as well.
Addressing Diddy's apology after the video was released, Charlamagne Tha God said that one can't believe anything that the rapper says. Claiming that Diddy didn't mean his apology, the radio host said:
“He’s not sorry, he’s sorry he got caught. He’s sorry that the video leaked, OK? If that video hadn’t come out, he’d still be lying right now.”
While Charlamagne Tha God has been vocal about his comments against Diddy, the radio host initially had a different stance on the situation when the rapper's homes were raided in March 2024.
At the time, Charlamagne had said that he didn't like what was happening and that it was sad because it reminded him of watching multiple people's legacies burning to the ground.
