Drake is going on another tour after a long time, and he has made an official announcement about it. Titled Anita Max Wynn Tour, it is scheduled to start on February 9, 2025, in Australia. The name of the tour refers to the rapper's alter-ego.
Anita Max Wynn was introduced during a Kick live-streaming session by Drake in December last year. As reported by Garage in February 2024, the artist displayed a cap featuring a photo of a cartoon with an orange bob haircut and eyeglasses. Furthermore, the character was wearing a striped blazer, yellow shirt, and ribbon.
Coincidentally, the Breakaway star's tour will begin on the same day that Kendrick Lamar headlines the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show, as per NME.
Notably, Drake and Kendrick Lamar were involved in a rap battle earlier this year, which started when the Canadian rapper released two diss tracks, Push Ups and Taylor Made Freestyle, in April 2024. Lamar responded with another single, Euphoria, and the duo continued releasing tracks targeting each other's personal and professional lives.
The rapper announced the upcoming tour on Sunday, November 24, during a live-streaming video with gaming streamer xQc. He said:
"February 9th for anybody that's watching from Australia, I'm coming back to Australia for the first time in eight years. Coming back to Australia on tour. Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast… February 9 'til like… March something."
Meanwhile, further details related to the tour are currently awaited, including the venues and the exact date when the event will conclude. Drizzy has also not shared any social media posts about the tour until now.
As mentioned, Anita Max Wynn was introduced in a live-stream video on Kick in December 2023. The name was inspired by the rapper's interest in gambling and cryptocurrency, as well as his habit of playing and winning games on social media.
The alter-ego is heard as "I need a max win" if it is said slowly. Garage reported that Anita Max Wynn quickly gained popularity among fans after its debut during the live-streaming session, becoming widely used in TikTok clips.
Drake has been associated with the cryptocurrency and gambling company Stake for around two years. Ed Craven, the company's co-founder, confirmed Drizzy's collaboration through an Instagram post, which has been deleted now. The caption stated:
"It was inevitable. Drake and @stake have come together. I am going to be announcing a date for an upcoming live event where I play to win some real money and give it all to you because what's better than sharing the love with my people. Stay tuned for details."
Since then, Drizzy has frequently posted content showcasing his earnings on social media alongside photos of him playing games, as per Complex. His last post related to his earnings was shared via Instagram on November 16, 2024.
In January this year, Drizzy launched a lineup of hats of four colors inspired by Anita Max Wynn. As reported by HipHopDX, the hats were available exclusively on Drizzy's website, Drake Related, and featured the Stake logo.
