Abbott Elementary season 4 episode 2 had a peculiar issue that our favorite teachers, principal and janitor had to deal with, which provided viewers plenty of laugh-out-loud moments.

One of the students in Jacob's class had ringworm and on hearing this news, the entire faculty had quite a reaction, particularly Gregory, who went into full lockdown mode.

The entire school went into a semi-quarantine to stop the infection from spreading, but the fungi eventually beat the staff. Gregory and Janine shared the disease, as Gregory chose a date with Janine over his fear of the fungal disease.

Abbott Elementary season 4 stars Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Lisa Ann Walter, Chris Perfetti and William Stanford Davis in prominent roles.

Abbott Elementary season 4 episode 2 titled Ringworm was about exactly that, a ringworm infection that sent the lovable and slightly overreactive faculty into full panic mode.

On hearing the news from Jacob, Gregory gets up and walks straight out of the teacher's lounge, avoiding every human contact possible for the rest of the episode. He reluctantly takes his class, wearing professional quarantine gear, installs an additional lock on his class door and even teaches the children how grossly fungal infection works.

Gregory's behavior annoyed Janine as she looked forward to their upcoming movie date. Greg cancels the plan or rather shifts it to a video call date. However, seeing Janine disappointed, he decides to choose spending time with his girlfriend over his germaphobia.

Jacob's heroics couldn't stop the spread of ringworm

Gregory's reaction would appear a bit too much in isolation, but the rest of the faculty weren't too far behind him in terms of overreaction.

While Barbara was convinced she was immune to the disease, Ava and Mellisa separated themselves from the students. Melissa was particularly concerned about her date with a man who had an in-ground hot tub.

The quarantine couldn't stop the fungi from spreading, as it's a particularly difficult task to keep children from interacting with one another during school hours. One kid from Jacob's class went from the first floor to the ground floor, and the fungi spread.

After the failure of the plan to separate the teachers and students from different floors, Jacob proposes that they should put all the infected students in the gym till the end bell time. He heroically volunteers to supervise the children, which obviously no one opposes. But it doesn't end well for him, as he gets infected and gets the worst ringworm infection possible.

However, despite his heroics, almost all the faculty members become victims of the evil fungus at the end of Abbott Elementary season 4 episode 2. Gregory and Janine get the disease together after their date.

Barbara wasn't as immune to the disease as she thought, while Melissa's date also had to be canceled after she got infected. However, her disappointment was minimal, as it turned out that her date's in-ground hot tub was taken out by the authorities for violation of construction rules.

Abbott Elementary season 4 episode 3 will be released on ABC on October 23, 2024. The episode will be available for streaming on Hulu the next day.
