What happened in High Potential episode 6?

The sixth episode of High Potential, titled Hangover, revolves around a crazy office party happening at a high-profile medical technology startup. The episode begins when Sam, a woman wakes up in her boss's office after the party and finds her boss dead nearby but can't remember anything as she had been heavily drunk.

The episode unfolds as the main protagonist, Morgan, experiences a slight twinge of sympathy for Sam and decides to help her clear her name. They realize that Sam's boss, Elaine, had a manipulative way of dealing with people, and several employees had reasons to want her dead.

Through interviews and evidence, Morgan and her team discovered that Elaine was bribing families to keep quiet regarding such defective products that led to health issues in their children. The investigation was full of twists and turns and there were several suspects at play. It is, of course, finally revealed that Sam did kill Elaine, but in self-defense.

Elaine attacked Sam with scissors; during the scuffle, Elaine fell and hit her head on a trophy and died. Morgan helps Sam by providing evidence that supports her case as self-defense.

What to expect from High Potential episode 7?

From the trailer, it seems that in High Potential episode 7, things go south rather quickly. Morgan agrees to let Ava tag along around the LAPD. However, the precinct is suddenly held hostage by the friends of a recently convicted man. Morgan and the detectives must think of a quick plan for how to outsmart the captors and ensure everyone's safety.

Matters start getting worse as Morgan's daughter happens to be in the precinct during the hostage situation.
