The Penguin season finale: Major spoilers to expect
The Penguin season finale is set to premiere on November 10, 2024, on HBO and Max. Titled Great or Little Thing, the episode will be the final outing of this season. Following on from Sofia Gigante's bombing of Oswald Cobb's Bliss operation, the episode will see the final climactic battle between the two take place while the keys to Gotham's criminal underworld hang in balance.
Episode 7 sets up The Penguin season finale in a huge way. Sofia still having Oswald's mom, Francis Cobb, under grab, will push him to be even more desperate. Episode 7 also sets up what Oswald's childhood was like, and going into The Penguin season finale, fans can expect to see more of that.
Other than that, fans can also expect to see exactly how Rex Calabrese influenced Oswald. Introduced in this week's outing, he is confirmed to appear in the season finale too, and given that Oswald looks up to him, the episode can certainly give more context behind it.

The final battle between Oswald and Sofia
Going into The Penguin season finale, fans can expect to see the climactic battle between Sofia Gigante and Oswald Cobb take place. Given that Oswald has constantly crossed Sofia at every turn and ruined her life constantly, she will certainly want to hurt him as much as possible. Alongside that, Oswald will also be going after his mother, which will just make him more desperate to win here.
In the last episode, fans got to see Sofia take Francis Cobb to the same club that she used to take Oswald dancing to. With Julian Rush therapizing Francis and getting to know about her, fans can certainly expect to see Sofia use more psychological tools to continue to torment Oswald.
It certainly looks like Sofia will be using Oswald's past against him to further hurt him. However, how that happens still remains to be seen. But fans can certainly expect an explosive season finale from the show.
Oswald's past
Fans can also expect to see Oswald's past to be further explored in The Penguin season finale. Episode 6 opened with how he craved his mother's attention and was jealous of his brothers, which led to him killing them, and then the episode ended with how Oswald's unhealthy obsession for getting her mother's approval was formed.
In the preview for The Penguin season finale, fans get to see that there will be further scenes with a younger Oswald and his mom in the episode. Perhaps it may offer further context into their relationship and how this forced Oswald into a life of crime.
Fans can also expect to see Rex Calabrese make an appearance in the episode and get to see how the crime boss was responsible for inspiring Oswald.
A setup for The Batman - Part II
The Penguin takes place before the events of The Batman - Part II. Given that the show will directly lead into the film, fans can expect to see a glimpse of what Matt Reeves might hold in store for them. Colin Farrell is already set to return as Oswald Cobb in the film, and this may set up his role in the film.
