WWE stages its "big five" PLEs every year. The biggest show, of course, is WrestleMania. It is joined by SummerSlam, the Survivor Series, the Royal Rumble, and most recently, Money in the Bank.

Arguably the most interesting of the "big five" is the Royal Rumble. The show features two big Royal Rumble Matches, one for the male stars and one for the female competitors. Fans look forward to these bouts all year.

The Women's Royal Rumble Match has evolved quite a bit since it was first introduced under the Vince McMahon-led regime. Early on, the match type was heavily carried by surprises from the Divas era, but nowadays, the company has so much talent that many are left out.

Still, there are bound to be some surprise returns, even if they're likely more modern stars who are out injured or away for other reasons. This article will take a look at four talented performers who could end up surprisingly returning in the 2025 Women's Royal Rumble Match.

Below are four early predictions for surprise returns in the 2025 WWE Women's Royal Rumble Match:

#4. Becky Lynch's WWE return is highly anticipated

Becky Lynch is an all-time great. Big Time Becks has won numerous world titles in WWE, and she is one of just a handful of women to headline WrestleMania. Not only did she headline the show, but the Irish star also walked out as both RAW and SmackDown Women's Champion.

The Man hasn't been seen in WWE since May 2024. She lost the Women's World Championship to Liv Morgan and then failed to regain the title in a Steel Cage Match. Her contract expired in June 2024.

Still, there is little doubt that The Man will eventually find her way back to WWE. Ultimately, it just comes down to a matter of when. The Women's Royal Rumble Match could be the perfect time and place for her to shock the world and return in a big way.

#3. Alexa Bliss has been gone for quite a while

Alexa Bliss is another successful female performer. While she was never an NXT Women's Champion or a WrestleMania headliner, the WWE star did win tag team gold and both the RAW and SmackDown Women's Titles.

Unfortunately, fans haven't seen Alexa for a long time, but for good reason. In early 2023, Bliss revealed she was pregnant. She has since been out on maternity leave, but many expect The Goddess to return sooner rather than later.

While most WWE fans assumed she would be involved with the Wyatt Sicks in some form, Alexa could instead return in the Women's Royal Rumble Match. Who knows? She could even win the bout and go on to challenge for a world title at WrestleMania.

#2. Shotzi could be a fun surprise

Shotzi hasn't quite had the success of the previous entries on this list. She is a former NXT Women's Tag Team Champion but has yet to win gold on WWE's main roster. Still, Shotzi is a popular and talented performer.

While Becky Lynch has left for contractual reasons and Alexa Bliss due to pregnancy, Shotzi's absence from TV is due to injury-related issues. The 32-year-old badly hurt her leg during the February 13, 2024, taping of NXT and hasn't been able to compete since. As of now, there is no timetable for when she'll return.

While there is no clear indication as to when she might show up, the 2025 Women's Royal Rumble Match could be the perfect avenue for her comeback. She would be a nice surprise and build some momentum. Plus, since she's undrafted, it would leave some mystery as to where the star would land next.

#1. Charlotte Flair could make a surprise return and win the match

Charlotte Flair is the most decorated female performer in WWE history. She is a 14-time world champion, just two world titles shy of her father's legendary 16 world title reigns.

The Queen was unfortunately injured in December 2023. She and Asuka had a bout on WWE SmackDown, and a move went awry with both women on the ropes. Charlotte fell and destroyed her leg, thus resulting in her missing the past 10 months of action.

Many assume Flair will be back soon, but if the company holds off until the 2025 Women's Royal Rumble Match, her eventual return could be a great surprise. Not only could Charlotte return in the bout, but she could win the entire thing.
