4 reasons why Sami Zayn may not reunite with the original Bloodline anytime soon

All current signs point to a Bloodline civil war at this year's Survivor Series: WarGames Premium Live Event. Once Solo Sikoa usurped the group immediately following WrestleMania 41, the writing was on the wall.

Month after month, The Tribal Heir made moves to build the group as per his image. The main reason for doing that would be to bolster his ranks heading into an inevitable war when the Original Tribal Chief returned, and he did at SummerSlam.

Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso have both returned to WWE over the last two months. Each realized that things had changed since The Show of Shows in April. Big Jim even pleaded with the OTC that they needed help against the sheer numbers of Sikoa's faction.

Jimmy tried to recruit Jey Uso on RAW but was unsuccessful. He'll likely try to persuade Sami Zayn next.

Zayn may scoff at the idea for any of the next four reasons:

#4. He doesn't have The Bloodline DNA

The entire foundation of the original Bloodline was that, in reality, its members were related by blood. Paul Heyman didn't fit that mold but was the group's special counsel.

Sami Zayn eventually ingratiated himself to the family over time but was easily kicked out due to not being linked to the faction via blood. Solo Sikoa's group is linked by Samoan and Tongan heritage but not by blood. The Rock is also linked to the group so his involvement makes sense.

Since Zayn made himself feel like a family member instead of having The Bloodline's DNA, he may feel on the outs.

#3. Roman Reigns didn’t treat him well last time

Sami Zayn did a lot to prove his loyalty to Roman Reigns before being accepted into The Bloodline. He routinely interfered to preserve wins for the group. Zayn even turned on his long-time friend, Kevin Owens, to serve the greater purpose for his Tribal Chief.

After months of trials and tribulations, The Head of the Table accepted Zayn into the group as "The Honorary Uce." That meant he wasn't a blood addition but supported the faction's mission statement.

Just as soon as he was accepted, Zayn was kicked out of the group. Reigns forced him to brutalize Owens at the Royal Rumble. The Tribal Chief had defeated The Prizefighter but wanted to continue the assault even after the match.

Zayn declined to assault his long-time friend and his ties to the group were severed. Reigns treated Zayn poorly and forced him to do things he didn't want to do. Why would Sami Zayn willingly return to such an abusive relationship?

#2. The Kevin Owens factor

Much of Zayn's initiation into The Bloodline involved his life-long friendship with Kevin Owens. The two stars have been friends and brothers for decades. They've feuded with and against each other in and out of WWE.

The Prizefighter was one of the greatest rivals for the heel version of Roman Reigns. He challenged Reigns for the Universal title three times but was cheated out of a win each time due to outside interference. The OTC forced Sami to turn on his friend to prove his loyalty. He did so initially but immediately regretted the decision.

Now that The Head of the Table is back in the fans' good graces, many expect everyone else to simply support whatever Roman wants to do. Owens has every right to push back against that notion, just as he did when Cody Rhodes quickly agreed to team with Reigns after about a week or so of doubt.

Owens has been constantly assaulted and brutalized by both versions of The Bloodline. What's more important to Sami Zayn - his relationship with Jey Uso and getting another shot at Solo Sikoa or his reconciling with the person he's closest to in the wrestling world?

#1. He may have moved on emotionally and want to stand on his own

The Bloodline saga took an emotional toll on many members. Some will claim Jey Uso was possibly the most affected by everything and they could be correct.

Zayn, however, had to work his way just to be accepted by a new family only to be immediately shunned the second he did something they didn't approve of. The Underdog From the Underground wears his heart on his sleeve as evidenced by all of his feuds.

He connects with the WWE Universe on several levels and is an amazing storyteller. Re-entering such an emotional space already took a huge toll on the former Intercontinental Champion's psyche once before.

Zayn repeatedly mentioned he wanted to prove he was a main-event player. He accomplished that to a degree by dethroning the then Intercontinental Champion Gunther at WrestleMania 40. To revisit the feud with the changing dynamics will only cause a higher emotional toll on one of the company's most beloved faces.
