Logan Paul to fight a 3-time champion at WrestleMania 41 instead of John Cena? Exploring the possibility

In the last few days, there have been reports suggesting the idea of Logan Paul versus John Cena for WrestleMania 41. Several reports also suggested that WWE management was not for the idea, but it had been thrown out there. Unfortunately, for those excited about it, a Paul vs. Cena match will most likely not happen, as the social media sensation could face a three-time champion instead.

The reigning World Heavyweight Champion Gunther is a three-time title holder in WWE. The Ring General has also held the Intercontinental and NXT UK Championships and would make more sense as an opponent for Logan Paul than John Cena would. After all, facing him would directly align with Paul's wrestling goals and those of WWE.

At the RAW on Netflix Kickoff show, Logan Paul made it abundantly clear, that he wanted to become a WWE World Champion in 2025. So, facing Gunther on the Grandest Stage of Them All would give him the opportunity to do just that. Furthermore, the management members were concerned that a match with Paul wouldn't be big enough for John Cena and would look elsewhere for a more fitting opponent for the veteran.

At the end of the day, this is all just a matter of speculation. There is no telling if Paul versus Cena is on the cards for WrestleMania 41. Let alone whether a match against Gunther is possible. Only time will tell.

Gunther shares thoughts on Logan Paul's championship aspirations

Logan Paul wasn't exactly subtle when it came to sharing his dream. He told the entire WWE Universe he wanted to be World Champion, and now that he's on RAW, Gunther will be on his hit list. However, winning the World Heavyweight Championship is easier said than done, and on the same kickoff show, The Ring General addressed Paul's title aspirations.

The Austrian superstar was pretty straightforward with his response. He claimed that if Paul thought he could come to RAW and take his title, then he was mistaken. What's more, he stated that if The Maverick ever made it to the front of the line, he would make it his duty to "slap that st**id smirk" off his face.

With fighting words like that, it seems inevitable that the two will clash. Will that be at WrestleMania 41 is something that remains to be seen. Nevertheless, the match will likely happen some time next year.
