WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman recently broke character to heavily praise Cody Rhodes. He made a bold statement regarding The American Nightmare's legacy, which has always been intertwined with his late father, Dusty Rhodes.

At WrestleMania XL, Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns to finish his story. The 39-year-old star dethroned the OTC to become the only member of the Rhodes family to ever win the WWE World Championship.

During an interview with CBS Sports' Shakiel Mahjouri on SHAK Wrestling, The Wiseman opened up about the rising talent in the Stamford-based promotion. The legendary manager spoke about the likes of Rhea Ripley, Liv Morgan, and even Sami Zayn.

Among the above-mentioned names, Paul Heyman also shared his two cents on The American Nightmare's current run as the World Champion. The WWE Hall of Famer stated that Dusty Rhodes' fame is now largely attributed to being Cody Rhodes' father, rather than the other way around.

"To Cody's [Rhodes] indescribably massive credit, I think now is the point in history where we are coming to realize that Dusty Rhodes is Cody Rhodes' father. And Cody Rhodes is the bearer of the name of the family that drives the most interest and is now the most famous," Heyman said.

Paul Heyman further claims he has never seen a bad performance from Cody Rhodes since his return to WWE

The Wiseman and Cody Rhodes have come face-to-face several times in the past two years. The two have delivered strong promos on each other in the middle of the ring, both on RAW and SmackDown, during The American Nightmare's feud with Roman Reigns.

During the same interaction with Shakiel Mahjouri on SHAK Wrestling, Paul Heyman claimed that he hadn't seen a single bad performance from Cody Rhodes, as he has relentlessly strived to achieve the highest level of success since his WWE return at WrestleMania 38 in 2022.

"But that man has worked so hard, so tirelessly, and so magnificently, and has hit out of the park on a consistent basis - 52 weeks a year and has never struck out. Not once have I seen a bad performance from Cody Rhodes," he added. [From 39:44 to 40:03]

The American Nightmare is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens at Saturday Night's Main Event on December 14, 2024, in Long Island, New York.

It remains to be seen if Cody Rhodes will be able to retain his World Title ahead of the Road to WrestleMania 41, which is set to kick off in about two months.
