WWE Crown Jewel feels like "lazy booking," claims Matt Camp, for a major reason

The sixth edition of the WWE Crown Jewel Premium Live Event will be held on Saturday, November 2, at the Mohammed Abdo Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Meanwhile, former employee Matt Camp made a shocking statement, criticizing the company for the Crown Jewel card.

The Chief Content Officer Triple H announced at Bad Blood, that this year's Saudi Arabia PLE will feature some groundbreaking matches. The Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will face off against the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther to determine the inaugural Men's Crown Jewel Champion. Meanwhile, the WWE Women's Champion Nia Jax will also clash with the Women's World Champion Liv Morgan to determine the first-ever Women's Crown Jewel Champion.

In a recent episode of his The Wrestling Matt podcast, former RAW Talk host suggested that Crown Jewel might be hindering WWE's booking plans for Survivor Series. Matt Camp argued that the Saudi Arabia PLE, despite its financial benefits, is more trouble than it's worth for the Stamford-based company.

"It feels like lazy booking, and I don't say that as a whole. I don't mean everything is lazy. I'm saying that this pay-per-view seems to be, this PLE, this Saudi Arabia event seems to be more of a nuisance to WWE; not from the money they're getting from it and that's why they are doing it. But it seems more of a nuisance to deal with before we get to Survivor Series. It seems like it's getting in the way of the booking of the Survivor Series," Camp said. [From 04:32 to 05:17]

Matt Camp on Gunther and Cody Rhodes ahead of WWE Crown Jewel

As mentioned earlier, The Ring General and The American Nightmare will lock horns for the Men's Crown Jewel Title. The program between the two men has already started, as Cody Rhodes and Gunther cut promos on each other on this week's Monday Night RAW.

On an episode of The Wrestling Matt, the former RAW Talk host claimed that Gunther is a better World Champion than Rhodes in terms of presentation.

"I might already call Gunther a better World Champion than Cody Rhodes. I'm really just saying that in terms of presentation. I'm well aware that I can make that statement and also know that Cody Rhodes is the face of the company and Gunther will never be that guy. He's a heel World Champion, and that's fine," he said.

Only time will tell whether it will be Cody Rhodes or The Ring General who capture the first-ever Crown Jewel Championship in Saudi Arabia next month.
