Roman Reigns has cemented himself as one of WWE's biggest attractions. The OTC has had one of the lengthiest title runs in company history. He continues to be recognized for being a franchise player by fans, peers, and legends of this industry.
Speaking of legends and veterans, JBL and Gerald Brisco are nothing but unanimous in their praise for Reigns. During a recent appearance on the Live Q&A on Backstage Pass, the Hall of Famers were asked to give their opinion on who they think is the 'new-age Mr. WrestleMania;' a title that was previously synonymous with Shawn Michaels:
"Yeah, Roman Reigns," stated JBL. "He's headlined more WrestleManias than anybody in history. He still is as hot onow as he's ever been. You talk about guys that create interest. Him just making that phone call to the Wiseman and the phone being disconnected... talk about creating interest. This guy has been on the top forever." [06:04 onwards]
Brisco, while agreeing with JBL, shared his praise for Cody Rhodes for creating big numbers from his storyline with Roman Reigns:
"I'd like to go with Roman Reigns too because of the numbers here. But Cody, come one. Roman couldn't deal with a nemesis like Cody. I'm really proud of Cody. I remember Cody coming up (in WWE). We knew those guys had talent. He's the one that stuck with it, and broke out into his own." [06:55 onwards]
Reigns and Rhodes haven't had a singles match against each other since WrestleMania XL Night 2. The American Nightmare tag teamed with The OTC against Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu at Bad Blood 2024. It remains to be seen if they'll share the ring in the foreseeable future.
