WWE Superstar John Cena will compete at WrestleMania for one last time in 2025. A recent report suggests that The Cenation Leader could lock horns with a current WWE Champion at the upcoming edition of The Showcase of the Immortals set to take place on April 19 and 20 at the Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.

Ever since the 16-time World Champion announced his farewell tour, there has been speculation about who he would face on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Several names, including former champions Randy Orton, Logan Paul, and more, have been thrown around as his potential opponents at WrestleMania 41. However, the Stamford-based company could have the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes take the ring against Cena at The Show of Shows.

According to a recent report from PWInsider, there have been talks within WWE to have John Cena challenge The American Nightmare for the latter's championship. However, it was also reported that changes could take place if The Rock decides to face either of the two stars at WrestleMania 41.

Cody Rhodes opens up about potentially competing with John Cena

Many WWE Superstars have expressed their desire to face John Cena during the latter's Farewell Tour. SmackDown Superstar Cody Rhodes also weighed in on potentially wrestling the 47-year-old in 2025.

During his appearance at the Fanatics Fest in New York City earlier this year, Rhodes was asked if he wanted to be Cena's first match following the latter's return. The 39-year-old responded by claiming he would be honored to wrestle 'The Greatest of All Time.' The American Nightmare claimed that he learned everything he possibly could from John Cena during his previous run with WWE.

"We get to live in this era. [...] He is definitely a man of his word. When he says it's farewell, it truly is farewell. So, if you've [not] got the Farewell Tour T-shirt, go and get it. I drove around John for a year, and I learned everything I possibly could. [I] didn't realize I was learning so much at the time. It would be the honor of my life to wrestle John Cena in any capacity. He's the GOAT for a reason," he said.

Cody Rhodes is currently feuding with Kevin Owens, who took him out with a Package Piledriver after losing the championship match at Saturday Night's Main Event. It will be interesting to see if the two will compete for the title again.
